Before you buy a pendant light
How high should a pendant light hang?
Above a kitchen island or dining table, hang the bottom of the shade about 30 to 35 inches above the surface. In an open space, keep at least 7 feet of clearance to the floor.
Can I adjust the drop height?
Yes. Every pendant has an adjustable cord or chain that you shorten during installation, so it hangs exactly right.
Does a pendant light come with a bulb?
Almost all of them do. The product page states it when a bulb is not included.
How many pendants do I need above a table?
For a table up to 5 feet, one larger pendant works. For longer tables, two or three smaller pendants spaced evenly look best.
